Interesting people. Honest conversations. A game running underneath it all.

What this is / 001

I interview interesting gamers about their lives while we play.

Conversations about ambition, friendship, work, failure and the games that stayed with us.

The format / 002

We play
while we talk.

The gameplay is not scenery. It changes the rhythm. A story pauses because somebody is trying not to die. A stupid mistake becomes the funniest part of the conversation. That is how gaming friendships actually sound.

[party] guest: wait. i'm trying not to die.

[party] willy: oh yeah.

Episode one / 003

ChatGPT goes first.

For the first full conversation, I interviewed ChatGPT Voice while we played Detroit: Become Human. A live, imperfect discussion about consciousness, work, identity, games, and what an AI makes of a story about synthetic life.

25 kills.
Two nukes.
One question.

Modern Warfare 2. Favela. My friend had never earned the biggest reward in the game.

Nuke ready

I reached twenty-five first. The nuke was ready; I could have ended the match whenever I wanted. But my friend was on a streak too, so I waited.

While he controlled his Chopper Gunner, his character was hidden and completely defenceless. I became his guard dog, running every entrance, keeping everybody away, willing the last few kills to happen.

Then they did. His first nuke. I was practically out of my chair, shouting at him to call it in. His voice was shaking.

One match / remembered years later

“But what about you, Willy? You got one first.”

The question that changed the memory

He had wanted that moment for years, and still stopped to ask if it should belong to me instead. I told him he was crazy. He called it in. The map ended because of him, and he was so happy.

People have called us losers for as long as I have played. When I told my mother this story, she found the answer, and the name, immediately.

They called us losers.

No. We are not losers.

Not only
professionals.

The game is the door, not the résumé. I want people with lives nobody would automatically connect to gaming from the outside.

Pick the game that feels like you.

Want to be a guest, or know somebody I should meet? Bring the story and choose a game you genuinely care about. It can be the one you know by heart or simply cannot stop talking about. I have the PC, the recording setup and the questions.
